Background:
Barbale is an organic agricultural brand. It was founded in 2015. The company does not have an organic certificate, but it uses full range of organic methods in agriculture. Barbale have a unique moto, which from the very beginning became the main message of the company to the customers: “We Produce Health”. The three main values for Barbale are organic production of the agricultural products, development of agrotourism and awareness raising on organic agriculture within the local farmers. Barbale produces vegetables. It works on reintroduction of old Georgian crops such as Broad Bean (Vicia faba), Black-eyed Pea (Vigna unguiculata), Foxtail Millet (Setaria italica), Lathyrus (lathyrus). They produce up to twenty kinds of murabas (sweet fruit preserve), jams, pickles, tea and medicinal herbs. One of the main agricultural production of Barbale is beekeeping and in 2019 they started apitherapy.
Currently Barbale has its own production, trains neighboring farmers in organic agriculture and helps them in selling their products.

Short presentation of the center/object:
The company operates only in big cities in Georgia (Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Batumi). They buy raw material from neighboring farmers. Usual customers are individual buyers and sometimes restaurants. The farm is easily accessible in Atskuri, 1 km from the main road. The shop in Tbilisi can be reached by public transport or by foot.
Services provided by the center:
Retail sale of local farmers’ products at the shop in Tbilisi. The company has an online delivery service in Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi.
