Background:
In 2006, the Şişli %100 Ecological Market, Turkey's first and largest organic market, was founded in collaboration with the municipality of Şişli. Following the establishment of the 100% ecological market in İstanbul Kartal in 2009, the 100 % ecological markets in Beylikdüzü and Bakırköy were created in 2010. It began to expand to Anatolia with the development of Kayseri Kocasinan in 2013 and İzmit %100 Ecological Markets in 2016, revealing Turkey's domestic market potential. In addition to these, the establishment of Konya Meram and İstanbul Küçükçekmece 100% Ecological Markets, of which the Buğday Association withdrew, and Antalya, Samsun Gazi and İlkadım, Balıkesir Burhaniye, İzmir Seferihisar, Kayseri Talas 100% Ecological Markets, most of which are now closed, were established.
%100 Ecological Markets also serves as a model for other ecological markets by creating a multi-stakeholder communication environment that serves the ecological whole in the field of organic.

Short presentation of the center/object:
Despite the fact that Turkey's first Ecological Market opened in Şişli-İstanbul on June 17, 2006 under the 100% Ecological Market name, the concept of an ecological market and how the market's originator, Buğday Association for Supporting Ecological Living, came to this choice has a lengthy history.
The fundamental goal of the 100% Ecological Market Project is to popularize ecological agriculture in Turkey in a way that is healthy, dependable, and appealing to all sectors of society in order to boost supply and demand. This initiative has evolved from a project to a viable public market with all types of legal licenses thanks to the collaboration and assistance of the Şişli Municipality.
Services provided by the center:
- To enable ecological certified products to reach consumers from all walks of life in the shortest, cheapest way and under appropriate conditions, within a safe system.
- Dissemination of ecological product knowledge, consumer education and demand creation
- To contribute to public health by providing controlled, reliable, documented, healthy products
- To contribute to the development of the sector by encouraging new producers/investors while providing market support to farmers who have switched to ecological agriculture.
- Developing and transforming public markets, which are part of our culture and a model of social and economic exchange.
- Supporting the conservation of water and soil quality and biodiversity
- To support ecological and sustainable living models, welfare and employment in rural areas. To support small and medium-sized producers/farmers, especially those who need income from ecological agriculture the most, who are of rural origin, who cannot provide variety, quality and continuity for markets or export.
